Dear Honeyridge Family, |

A consignment of food supplies for the Tonga Bible translators as well as much needed medicines for the Binga Clinic and supplies for the Isaiah's Baby Home in Bulawayo was sent up to Zimbabwe this week. Sadly on Wednesday, the truck transporting the goods had a tyre blow out overturned and caught fire just outside of Bulawayo. Thankfully the driver was not injured but most of the goods in transit were destroyed. |

Lockdown Testimonies
Dear Honeyridge Family, I was recently asked to share a short lockdown testimony. Recently, I have been asked to join the “young dads” Bible study at 7AM on a Saturday morning. Don’t ask who came up with the meeting time. Nevertheless, I decided to give it a go. Trust me, I did think of some excuses to avoid having to get out of bed at this time. My encouragement to you is brief: There exists something special in meeting with people who are in a similar stage of life as you (give or take a few grey hairs here and there). These meetings have been a source of great encouragement to me during this lockdown period. I want to encourage you that if you find yourself in a place of comfort (in your mind, not needing fellowship over zoom, etc.) or if you find yourself thinking that you tick the box of streaming your church service once a week, please push yourself to seek time with the Lord through the meditation of his word with fellow believers. My fear is that Lockdown pushes people to live enclosed lives; not needing fellowship and not needing interactions with one another. Please don’t let that be you. If I’m saying anything, it’s this: Don’t let comfort steer you away from seeking meaningful fellowship with your brothers and sisters in Christ. I’ll leave you with a short extract from the book of Titus which we studied last week: For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled lives, upright and godly lives in this present age, while we wait for the blessed hope – the appearing of the glory of our great God and Saviour, Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good. These, then, are the things you should teach. Encourage and rebuke with all authority. Do not let anyone despise you. Titus 2: 11 – 15 My closing comment: Be eager to do good, join a group, and find nourishment for your soul in a group environment. Nathan Theron
The past months have been for us a focus on relationships - mending, bringing healing. Neighbours connecting - little tokens of kindness to one another. Gratefulness to our Church family for their support and love when we were grieving. Finally the stillness - spending quality time in the presence of our Lord Jesus. Being more aware of the Precious Holy Spirit, and a deeper love for people. What a wonderful God, who brings joy out of sorrow. Isaiah 61:2-3 Lionel & Barbs Johnson |
