Pastor's Letter
Dear Honeyridge Family, Today is the 1st of November and this Buzzz goes out on this Sunday when our theme is the Holy Spirit in Revival! Revival is a work which only God can do, when he moves among dying or lukewarm churches and across a lost and needy society in a remarkable way which usually flows far beyond any single church or denomination, to impact an entire city or even a whole country with the transforming grace of Jesus Christ. When last have you prayed for such a great working of God in our day? We see that this was a prayer on the lips of God’s people throughout the scriptures: Psalm 85:4–7 — 4 Restore us again, O God of our salvation, and put away your indignation toward us! 5 Will you be angry with us forever? Will you prolong your anger to all generations? 6 Will you not revive us again, that your people may rejoice in you? 7 Show us your steadfast love, O Lord, and grant us your salvation. November is a month of new beginnings for us at Honeyridge as we resume our Sunday worship services after 7 months of Lockdown, in our newly renovated building! But none of these good things can produce true Spiritual Revival. One clear characteristic of the great revivals throughout church history has been a growing hunger for the moving of God’s Spirit, expressed most obviously by a growing desire for God’s presence through prayer. So in the remaining weeks leading up to our services resuming, my request to you is to commit yourself to praying daily for revival… Revival in our hearts at Honeyridge… Revival among the churches of our city… and Revival of God’s saving and transforming grace across our whole country. We cannot orchestrate this move of God… but we can long for it… pray for it… and prepare for it!
Your brother in Christ, Clinton. |

Farewell greeting
Dear Honeyridge Friends You may have heard that I will commence my ministry as pastor of the Lambert Road Baptist Church in Durban on 1 November. I should have taken up my duties on 1 April, but this was delayed because of the Lockdown. Unfortunately, we are unable to greet everyone in the Honeyridge church family personally. However, we want you to know how much we thank the Lord for the privilege of having served Him at Honeyridge in the past. We have been enriched by the many lasting friendships we have made, and it has been a privilege to come alongside you in the course of our ministry. Please will you pray for us as we leave Johannesburg, relocate to a different city and settle into a new church at this stage of our lives amid all the challenges presented by the Corona-virus. We pray for God’s continued wisdom and encouragement for Clinton & Karen as they serve the Lord amongst you. Please feel free to pop in to Lambert Rd Church should you ever find yourselves in Durban. With our sincere love and appreciation in the Lord. Stuart, Loren & Heather Cranna |

CYCLING FOR THE WORDby Garth Coppin For three years I cycled the 94.7 Cycle Challenge wearing a Wycliffe cycling top along with others to publicise Wycliffe Bible Translators but also to raise funds for the translation of the Bible. This year, with lockdown restrictions, Wycliffe was encouraging people, during a 2 week period in October, to run, walk, swim or cycle to raise funds. At the end about a dozen cyclists gathered in the Cradle of Humankind, which is popular with cyclists, for a casual 30km ride kitted in our Wycliffe tops. A large model of the Bible, which is over 1m in height, was worn by some cyclists during our ride. This made us stand out and we were noticed by many other cyclists during our ride. |
